Hi, I'm Alexis!

I’m the traveler and lifelong hobby girl behind Compass & Keepsake!

I’ve always loved capturing my travels and recapping them when I return home—a way to reminisce, appreciate the little moments, and keep the feeling of each place alive long after I’ve left. I’ve also always been the girl who loves creating things with my hands, whether that’s drawing, painting, designing, sewing, crocheting, crafting, or simply picking up a new creative hobby just to see where it takes me.

At some point, I found myself wondering: What if I combined those two things?

And that’s how Compass & Keepsake was born.

Creative expression has always felt like a core part of who I am. I love making things that feel personal, thoughtful, and meaningful, and I wanted Compass & Keepsake to be a reflection of that. It’s about being “Guided by purpose. Inspired to create.”

I created the Mail Club as a way to bring the feeling of traveling directly to you—and to give us all a little something tangible to look forward to in the form of happy mail.

I loved the idea of creating a subscription centered around a different destination each month, giving me the opportunity to build a collection of travel-inspired goodies based on that place. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and made by me, with the hope that it feels like receiving a tiny piece of somewhere special in your mailbox.

I also wanted Compass & Keepsake to be a way to honor my husband and his passion for photography. He’s always right alongside me on our travels, camera in hand, capturing the details, scenery, and essence of the places we visit. His beautiful work has become such an important part of how we remember our adventures, so I wanted to incorporate his photographs into what I create and share with you.

At its heart, Compass & Keepsake is my way of sharing the places that have inspired me while making something meaningful with my own two hands.
